What is TEWL and what do high or low values mean?

TEWL 是经皮水分流失（Transepidermal Water Loss）。数值越低通常代表屏障越完整、锁水能力越好；数值升高提示屏障受损。

TEWL is transepidermal water loss. Lower values generally indicate a more intact barrier with better water retention; higher values suggest barrier damage.

常用测量原理是开放式腔体气流法（Tewameter® / VapoMeter 同类原理）。

在 SBT 的 4 周观察中，五种皮肤性质对象的 TEWL 均下降，其中干性与敏感性基线 TEWL 最高，改善幅度也最大——即「漏得越狠、补得越显」。

注意：TEWL 受环境温湿度、测量部位与仪器影响，单次数值只能作参考，看趋势比看绝对值更有意义。

In SBT's 4-week observation, TEWL fell across all five skin types, with dry and sensitive skin showing the highest baseline and the largest improvement.

TEWL is affected by ambient temperature, humidity, site and device; trends matter more than a single absolute value.
